English lessons for all!

Friday, 23 April 2010

Many of the children could not speak a word of English at the commencement of these intensive course and the results from the exercise has been quite impressive. Cathy has been ably assisted by the resident English teacher, Mr Bopou who went with Cathy to the Tesol case study course, Camtesol held in Phnom Penh in February 27/28. The Camtesol identifed the best practices being deployed in Cambodia for teaching English as a second language.
The children were taught vowels, consonants, pronunciation, phrasing, and generally the basics of conversational English.
Knowing just how important it is to find a job with English , they have all been very keen to learn and Cathy has now set up the mechanism for all her hard work and effort to be carried on by volunteers who have expressed interest in teaching English in Cambodia
